Qantas has launched a new online hub specifically created for New Zealand based Frequent Flyer members, as it looks to expand and diversify its local membership base.
qantaspoints.com is designed to showcase the many ways to earn and use Qantas Points, with the site specific to the earning opportunities for those living in New Zealand.
The launch of qantaspoints.com follows last month’s announcement that Frequent Flyer members can now earn Qantas Points on all Jetstar New Zealand domestic flights*. In June, Jetstar New Zealand also announced it would expand its network to include four new regional destinations from December.
Qantas Loyalty CEO Lesley Grant said qantaspoints.com will help members easily understand how they can maximise their points earn and get rewarded as quickly as possible.
“We offer New Zealanders a number of opportunities to earn points for activities other than flying: there are points-earning credit cards available through ANZ, plus thousands of partner hotels around the world, as well as opportunities to earn points when hiring a car with Avis and Budget Car Rental,” she said.
“Members can use their accumulated points for the trip of a lifetime, whether that be a shopping trip to Paris or taking the family to Movie Word on the Gold Coast.
“Qantas Points can also be redeemed for over a thousand products available through the online New Zealand Qantas Store – we stock a wide range including Apple products; homewares and kitchen appliances; movie tickets; and magazine subscriptions.”
Gift cards for popular local retailers including Briscoes, The Warehouse, Mitre 10, Noel Leeming and Farmers are also available via the Online Store, which is accessible via qantaspoints.com. Qantas Store redemptions start from just 2,500 Qantas Points.
“We have a really straightforward goal of being the best loyalty program in the world and helping members better understand the program as it grows is key to that. That’s what qantaspoints.com is all about,” Ms Grant said.
Members will still use qantas.com for all their flight bookings and to manage the flying aspects of their Qantas Frequent Flyer account.
The qantaspoints.com website is similar to the site designed for Australian-based Frequent Flyer members which launched in 2014 and had around one million views in less than four weeks.
New Zealanders can become part of Qantas Frequent Flyer for free until 31 December 2015, saving the usual $NZ50 join fee.
